The Queen’s English

Definition: The English language as regarded as under the guardianship of the Queen; hence, standard or correct English.

We were all taught to speak the Queen's English.

(The Oxford English Dictionary)

The term “the Queen's English” dates back to 1592 and the time of Queen Elizabeth I. If you want to hear a slightly more modern version of it, you absolutely have to watch the successful British TV series, The Crown. Actress Claire Foy’s performance as the Queen of England is absolutely exquisite.
